ABOUT EMBRACE

Embrace Psychotherapy is more than a therapy practice: it’s a wellness lifestyle brand dedicated to holistic healing, connection, and growth. Embrace integrates traditional psychotherapy with embodied practices and community-based wellness. From our running club that encourages movement and mindfulness, to our psychoeducational groups and individual therapy that foster emotional intelligence and self-awareness, every offering is designed to help individuals embrace balance and authenticity. Our social events, spiritual meditation gatherings, and yoga sessions invite clients to connect mind, body, and spirit, creating a sense of belonging and transformation that extends beyond the therapy room. At Embrace, healing becomes a lifestyle rooted in compassion, movement, and meaningful community.

Our History: From Rockland County Counseling Services to Embrace Psychotherapy

The story of Embrace Psychotherapy began with a simple observation: a need for accessible, compassionate mental health and substance use treatment in the Rockland County community.

When I first arrived in Rockland, I was struck by its beauty; serene, diverse, and eclectic. It immediately felt like home. Yet, as I began searching for employment, I realized there were few opportunities for therapists specializing in both mental health and substance use disorder. Wanting to serve a community I believed in, I began to imagine what it might look like to fill that gap.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the difficult decision to leave my position at Children’s Aid and Family Services in New Jersey. As someone who is immunocompromised, the uncertainty of the time made in-person work risky for both me and my family. Already working
part-time as a virtual psychotherapist with Brooklyn Women’s Services, I transitioned to full-time telehealth, continuing to support clients during a period of deep collective trauma and change. It was in that moment of reflection and service that the dream took root.. to create a practice grounded in accessibility, clinical excellence, and holistic healing. Drawing from my background in psychotherapy, business management, and community building, I founded Rockland County
Counseling Services (RCCS).

My partner at the time, Brian, who grew up in Rockland County, brought deep insight into the local experience and the community’s needs. Together, we built a practice designed to serve as a beacon of hope for anyone seeking support.

In October 2023, Brian died by suicide - a devastating loss that forever changed my life. In his memory, and in honor of the vision we shared, I made a commitment to keep this “baby” alive: to ensure that anyone seeking therapy would find a place where they are seen, heard, and held with compassion.

After his passing, I relocated to be near family for grounding and healing. With both of my children now grown and launched into the world, I felt called to evolve the practice, to transform pain into purpose, grief into growth.

That transformation gave birth to Embrace Psychotherapy, a name that symbolizes infinite connection and holistic healing. From the butterfly (a symbol of change and renewal) to the infinity symbol (representing continuity, growth, and unending love), Embrace stands for the belief that healing is a lifelong journey; one that integrates the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual parts of ourselves.

Today, Embrace Psychotherapy carries forward the legacy of Rockland County Counseling Services with expanded services, deeper community partnerships, and a continued commitment to accessible, integrative care. Our story is one of transformation: from loss to purpose, from separation to connection, from a local dream to a growing community of care. At Embrace, we believe life has no true endings, only seasons of change, each inviting us to reconnect with who we are and what matters most to ourselves. Our mission is simple:

To help individuals, families, and communities transform, grow, and reconnect to themselves and to one another.
