Hello! My name is Alyssa, and I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in psychology at Mercy University. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human Resource Development from Siena College in Albany, New York. I have a strong passion for learning about human behavior, the mind, and the various aspects of psychotherapy.

I am excited to step into the field and learn from the Embrace team, gaining exposure to both the clinical and behind-the-scenes aspects of this work. I am looking forward to exploring the various therapeutic approaches and practices used to support clients in their growth, healing, and self-discovery. I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a supportive organization that promotes connection and collaboration.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. Hiking, swimming, walking, or simply being with friends and family are my top favorite things to do.

I’m a first-generation Caribbean-born graduate, a proud single mother of three young men, and a Mental Health Counselor practicing under a limited permit. My philosophy is simple: “Each one teach one. If you didn’t come from a healthy family, make sure a healthy family comes from you.”
I earned dual master’s degrees in Health Education & Promotion and Clinical Mental Health
Counseling, with an undergraduate in Sociology from Lehman College. Since 2005, I’ve worked in Health and Human Services, and these experiences shaped my belief that healing is holistic and rooted in each person’s unique needs.

I support clients in reconnecting with their inner strengths, healing generational trauma, and creating meaningful, lasting transformation. Whether working with conscious parenthood, addiction recovery, relationships, or sexuality, I prioritize creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore openly and grow authentically. My approach not only helps you understand yourself more deeply, but also translates insight into meaningful, actionable change. I am particularly passionate about supporting women of all ages, young adults finding their voice, couples navigating connection, family dynamics, conscious parenthood, and anyone ready to step fully into their power and clarity. My goal is to help individuals live abundant, fulfilling lives by fostering balance, self-awareness, and intentional connection.

As a New Yorker, I know what it’s like to find stillness in the chaos, and I bring that perspective into every session, helping you honor your truth even amid life’s noise, and to move forward with intention. I welcome the beauty of diverse beliefs and cultures, drawing on my spiritual understanding to foster healing and growth. Whether we’re addressing personal challenges or exploring your journey, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Outside of therapy, I nurture my own mind, body, and spirit through yoga, nature, movement, and time with my toy poodle, Summer - practices that allow me to show up fully present, grounded, and inspired in my work with you.
