Individual Psychotherapy

You've probably been managing for a while. Keeping up with work, relationships, and responsibilities while something underneath stays heavy and unresolved. From the outside, things may look fine. On the inside, it's harder than anyone around you knows.

Individual therapy at Embrace Psychotherapy & Education is built around the whole person — your history, your relationships, your nervous system, the patterns that keep showing up, and what you actually want your life to feel like. We combine evidence-based clinical care with a genuinely human approach, because lasting change requires both.

Individual Psychotherapy

What you might be carrying

You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. What brings people in often sounds like:

  • Anxiety or depression that hasn't responded to what's worked before

  • Trauma, or a life that changed after something happened and never quite settled

  • Burnout that goes deeper than needing rest

  • Feeling functional on the outside while privately overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck

If you've tried therapy before and it didn't feel right, we're glad you're here. What we offer goes beyond symptom relief — the goal is to understand the deeper patterns, not just manage what's on the surface.

How we work

Sessions are both reflective and practical. You'll have space to understand what's happening beneath the surface — the thoughts, emotions, relationships, and experiences shaping how you move through the world — and you'll leave with real tools you can use between sessions.

Treatment is individualized and evolves as you do. Your clinician may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to shift unhelpful thought patterns, Dialectical Behavior Therapy to build emotional regulation and distress tolerance, or Trauma-Focused CBT to process difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe. Care is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in respect for your lived experience. As therapy progresses, goals can shift, and the approach shifts with them.

Finding the right fit

One of the advantages of working with a group practice is thoughtful clinician matching. Before your first appointment, our intake team takes time to understand your needs, preferences, and goals, then matches you with the clinician best suited to support you. If at any point the fit doesn't feel right, we'll work with you to find a better one.

What your first session looks like

The first session is a conversation, not an assessment you have to pass. Your clinician will ask about what's bringing you in, relevant history, how things are affecting your daily life, and what you're hoping therapy will help you change. You set the pace. By the end of the session, you'll have a clear sense of direction and a treatment plan you helped shape.

Most new clients are seen within the same week of reaching out.

Who this is a good fit for

We work with tweens, teens, adults, and older adults. Individual therapy at Embrace may be a good fit if you're dealing with emotional distress such as anxiety, depression, or grief; difficult experiences including trauma, PTSD, or burnout; or major life changes such as transitions, health challenges, or relationship shifts. It's also a good fit if you're not sure exactly what the problem is, but you know something needs to change.

Fees and insurance

We accept several major insurance plans. Private pay, out-of-network superbills, EAP programs, and sliding-scale arrangements are also available. Contact our office to confirm your coverage before your first appointment.

Common questions

Is everything I share confidential?
Yes. What you share in session is protected within professional and legal boundaries. Your clinician will explain the specific limits of confidentiality during your first appointment.

What if I need to cancel?
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without a charge. If you're running late, your clinician will hold your appointment for 15 minutes.

Ready to take the next step?

We respond to all new inquiries within 24 hours. When you reach out, our intake coordinator will learn what's bringing you in, answer your questions, and help match you with the right clinician. Use the form below to get started.
