Rockland County Counseling is now Embrace Psychotherapy!

Hi there, my name is Basia (ba-see-ya). I am a proud Jewish Orthodox woman here in Rockland, New York. I am an avid journalist, cat lover, bi-sexual she/her human.

From a very young age I always felt a sense of justice and an eager desire to advocate for others. Even before I knew about social justice or advocacy as a concept, I wanted to show up for others to make a difference. This strengthened my resolve to become a practicing therapist. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Lander College for Women in Touro University in 2024. My undergraduate studies were filled with amazing classes and opportunities I never thought I could accomplish. Since then, I was very excited to continue my education to earn my Master’s in social work. Before I started at SUNY Binghamton, I married the love of my life and adopted 2 of our own cats, Motty and Jalen. I consider myself so fortunate to have experienced so many positive life changes in the past couple of years. I am pleased to be an intern at Embrace Psychotherapy as a part of my continued education. My goal is to step into the practical world of therapy and clinical practice. I am excited to work alongside experienced clinicians from various backgrounds and specialties. My aim is to be a part of the agency’s growth, outreach and advocacy efforts. Of course, I am keen to meet with clients and community members as well. When I’m not fulfilling my internship hours, you will find me adding to my mascara collection, talking nonsense to my cats, squeezing in social interactions and of course, journaling my day.
